This site is a growing repository of Hindu Shlokas, Stotras, Mantras, Sutras, Stuthis and larger texts including the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and Prakrana Granthas by Sri Adi Shankaracharya and others.

All content is in Sanskrit, with English transliteration, English meaning and in most cases supplemented with commentaries (bhashya) along with Audio renderings.”

“What we wish to do is to: (1) Create a repository of Indian philosophical texts on the Internet, and to make these freely available to whoever is interested. (2) Create tools as well as a process that will make the putting up of such texts on the web simple. (3) Explore the different ways in which the content can be presented, in order to enhance the study of these texts.

Our major website is the Gita Supersite. It is not only the first site that we have built, but even today, a large part of our collective effort is spent in improving this site. We see this website as representative of all our work, and also as a model of how we think such work should be done. This website has the aphorisms of the Brahma Sutra together with Sankara’s commentary. The texts are in Sanskrit and can be viewed in any of 11 language scripts: Assamese, Bengali, Devanagari, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Roman, Tamil and Telugu. We hope to put up English translations of the Sutras as well as Sankara’s commentary very soon.”

“Vaidika Vignyanam includes not just Vedas, but everything that is derived from Vedas as well. If Vedas are like trees, then scriptures like Ramayanam, Bhagawad Gita, Slokas, Stotrams, Mantras, and Devotional Keertanas are like fruits and flowers from these trees. They are as important and respectable as Vedas themselves. The goal of this Web site is to capture all of that information in a single place.

In this site, you will find the spiritual and devotional literature in various Indian languages. The purpose of this site is to serve everyone with the vast amount of Indian literature that is available, which is sometimes hard to find, especially on the Internet. Most of the content in this site is based on Sanskrit or Samskritam. You can read translations to understand their content……….

Vaidika Vignanam was founded in 2006 as an online collection of spiritual and devotional literature in Indian languages. It started as a blog and then later evolved into a full website in 2010 as https://vignanam.org. It was created primarily as a website to catalog the Stotrams for myself. Over time, it has emerged as a popular resource to find the lyrics to popular Stotrams like Hanuman Chalisa, Lingashtakam, Aditya Hrudayam, etc. in Indian languages. Over the past years, I have added several Stotrams to the site with help from other contributors. Our goal is to make it a resource for accessing all of our scriptures in one place.”
